Anti-Aging
At Vogue Medical, we focus on subtle skin rejuvenation and anti-aging. As we age, our facial features can change, leading to a tired or worn-out appearance. Instead of dramatic changes, we aim to refresh your look naturally and healthily.
Our approach combines prescribed skin treatments with targeted injectables to restore radiance and balance. We emphasize moderation for a refined, natural outcome.
Dermal Filler Injections
Dermal fillers enhance facial features with a natural look, allowing for non-permanent changes. They can be used for lip augmentation, wrinkle treatment, scar removal, and to address concerns like thin lips, flat cheeks, and puffiness.
Compared to other methods, dermal fillers offer precise correction for medium to deep wrinkles without affecting facial muscle movement. They provide a natural, youthful appearance and are non-permanent
What are the benefits of dermal fillers? Cosmetic injectables, wrinkle fillers or dermal fillers are generally classified into two main categories: temporary injectable fillers, and semi-permanent or permanent injectable fillers.
Before jumping into getting any type of injectable filler, it is advised you do some research about possible side effects. The greatest risk occurs when injectable fillers are injected by a practitioner who is not properly trained or qualified to perform cosmetic procedures.
The benefits of using dermal fillers include:
- They reliably treat wrinkles at depths that other methods cannot
- They are more bio-compatible with the body and rarely cause reactions
- Fillers can be dissolved by injection if there are any problems
- They are non-invasive compared to surgical solutions
Ordinary side effects following dermal filler injections include swelling, redness, bruising and mild facial asymmetry as the inflammation settles down.
There is also a risk of asymmetry developing after the filler injections, but this is completely correctable and generally minimal.
Very rarely, more serious side effects can occur. These may include:
- Tissue death in the glabellar region
- Granuloma
- Hypersensitivity
A single treatment every 9-12 months is usually required.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections
These cosmetic injections work by relaxing particular facial muscles – those that we use to frown or squint – that cause lines, or wrinkles to develop. Once the targeted facial muscle(s) is relaxed, it can’t contract again; and this inability for the muscle to contract is what prevents wrinkles from forming, creating a smoother, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.
Anti-wrinkle injections are administered as numerous tiny, micro, injections that relax the targeted facial muscle by blocking nerve impulses that trigger wrinkle-causing contractions.
Everyone’s pain threshold is different. However, the sensation of these injections has been described as similar to that of an ant bite, lasting for a few seconds.
The effect of anti-wrinkle injections typically last three to four months. However, their effect can last longer with ongoing, more regular, treatment.
The anti-wrinkle injections are used widely to remove the expression lines that give an impression of anger, anxiety, sadness or tiredness. Some common areas include:
- frown lines between the eyebrows
- crows feet around the eyes
- horizontal forehead wrinkles
Side effects are usually temporary and localized, including drooping eyelids, bruising, headache, redness, swelling, muscle weakness, and nausea. Rarely, the substance may spread, causing more serious issues like difficulties with swallowing, speaking, or breathing, especially with large doses.
Be cautious of untrained practitioners, as improper administration can lead to complications. While generally low-risk, minor risks still exist.
- Choose a practitioner who is either a qualified doctor, or supervised by one to perform the procedure.
- Attend a consultation before committing to the treatment, and ask for a treatment plan to outline how much work you are going to have done, where the work will be done, and how often you will return.
- Consider the ongoing cost of keeping up with the treatments.
- Make sure you leave several days after your initial consultation before having the treatment (a cooling off period) to give you time to think about your decision.
