GP Services

At Vogue Medical, we provide the following general practice services:

Our doctors in South Yarra provide personal comprehensive and continuing health care for all individuals and families. Please note, from time to time our clinic may contact you regarding disease prevention and health promotional activities that may be of benefit to your family, e.g. routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunisations, screening tests, or personalised counselling.

We understand that in some circumstances you will require multiple appointments for children and/or parents at the same time. Please ensure that you discuss this with one of our receptionists so that adequate appointment times can be made.

An important part of staying healthy is to visit your doctor, at least once a year, for a full checkup. This checkup and health assessment can include:

  • Blood tests
  • Vital measurements (such as blood pressure, heart rate, BMI)
  • Skin check
  • Lung function test
  • Echocardiogram (ECG)
  • Urine testing
  • Sexual health screening

For men, a prostate check may be included. For women, a PAP test, breast exam, contraceptive review, and pregnancy care advice may be offered. We also address personal issues like diet, exercise, stress, relationships, family planning, medications, and immunization.

When booking, let our staff know it’s for a health check, so we can schedule enough time. An annual checkup helps you stay on the path to good health.

Our doctors can create a Care Plan for patients with chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis.

A Care Plan centralizes all the information on managing your condition and tracks the health providers involved in your care. It may also provide access to up to five sessions with allied health providers, such as physiotherapists or dietitians, partly covered by Medicare.

With a Care Plan, you can take an active role in choosing treatments, providers, and setting health goals. To be eligible, book an appointment with our nurse for guidance and service recommendations.

Melbourne is a top destination for international students. We offer a wide range of health services to support students during their studies. You may even be able to consult with doctors in your native language and connect with others in a friendly, supportive environment.

Most international students need private medical insurance to access healthcare benefits. We have arrangements with Medibank Private and Allianz OSHC, allowing students to pay a gap fee at the clinic, with the balance submitted to their insurer.

For any healthcare advice, please check your coverage with your insurance provider.

Depression is one of the most common mental health issues and can vary in symptoms and treatment needs. It often coexists with other mental health disorders and may be influenced by factors like genetics, environment, life events, diet, and lifestyle.

While everyone feels down occasionally, depression involves deep, prolonged sadness and hopelessness that is a change from the usual self. One in four women and one in six men will experience a depressive episode in their lifetime.

If sadness persists for more than two weeks, it’s important to consult a doctor. Our practitioners are available to discuss any mental health concerns.

Sexual health involves many things, including: knowing about your body and how it works; understanding the physical, social and emotional changes that come with puberty, stages of pregnancy and ageing; keeping yourself and others sexually safe; and finding information and support when things go wrong, such as an unplanned pregnancy or sexually transmitted infection.

Our medical practitioners are ready to assist you with any concerns or issues you may have with your sexual health. We respect your privacy and individuality.

Asthma is a chronic airway condition with symptoms like wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. It is treatable, and with proper management, people with asthma can lead normal, active lives. However, untreated asthma can cause permanent lung damage due to airway remodeling.

Talk to your doctor about managing your asthma and creating an action plan. For more information, visit the National Asthma Council Australia website at www.nationalasthma.org.au.

Diabetes is a complex chronic condition, but with proper management, complications can be greatly reduced. At Vogue Medical, we offer comprehensive diabetes care through regular doctor visits, Diabetes Care Plans, and referrals to allied health professionals like dietitians, exercise physiologists, and podiatrists. We also provide information and support for you and your family.

Vaccinating your child is crucial for their health and well-being. At Vogue Medical, we provide a caring and thorough immunisation service in a safe and welcoming environment. Our doctors and nurses are available to discuss immunisations with parents and ensure your child has a positive experience.

When your child is due for their next immunisation, please book a consultation with both the doctor and nurse. All vaccinations follow the National Immunisation Schedule, and details are sent to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR).

Immunisations on the ACIR schedule are free, and consultations are bulk billed. Some additional vaccines may incur a private charge—please discuss this with our practice nurse when booking.

Keeping your immunisations up to date is essential, as many preventable diseases can be avoided with simple vaccinations. We offer a comprehensive immunisation service, including routine and travel vaccinations like Yellow Fever, for which we are accredited.

If you’re planning to travel, book a bulk-billed pre-travel consultation with one of our doctors. For more information on adult vaccinations, speak to your doctor during your next visit. Please note, many adult vaccines are not covered by Medicare and may incur additional fees.
